BREWING TIME

BARISTA'S BREW WISDOM

  1. Before adding coffee, wet the filter to remove any residual flavors and preheat your cup or carafe.
  2. Use a medium grind, akin to table salt, for even extraction.
  3. Pour water in small, steady circles to evenly saturate the coffee.
  • Measure Your Coffee

Start with a 1:16 coffee-to-water ratio, using 20 grams of coffee for 330 grams of water.

  • Perfect Grind for V60

Aim for a grind like table salt. The grind size controls the flow rate due to the V60's large hole.

  • Boil Water

    Heat water to around 200°F.

  • Filter Prep

Pre-wet the filter with hot water to remove paper taste and preheat your cup.

  • Prepare the V60

Place the V60 on a scale, zero it, and add your ground coffee.

  • Brewing Technique

Pour 40 grams of water in circles to wet the grounds, then let it bloom for 20-30 seconds. Continue pouring the rest in even circles.

  • Optimal Brew Time

Target a total brew time of about 2 minutes, 30 seconds.
